On June 29, 2017 Archbishop Blair issued a Decree of Convocation of the Fourth Synod of The Archdiocese of Hartford. In this decree, Archbishop Blair states that "the purpose of this new Synod will be to consider the future of this local Church from the perspective of the New Evangelization, as presented by the magisterium of the Popes from the time of the Second Vatican Council, including the challenge articulated by Pope Francis when he writes: I dream of a 'missionary option,' that is, a missionary impulse capable of transforming everything, so that the Church's customs, ways of doing things, times and schedules, language and structures can be suitably channeled for the evangelization of today's world rather than for her self-preservation. (Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii
gaudium, no. 27"
As part of the Synod process each parish in the Archdiocese is asked to have a "Parish Listening Session." The listening session is open to all parishioners. Our parish listening session will be: Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 6:30pm in the Parish Hall.
At this listening session, each person will be given 2-3 minutes to answer each of the following questions:
• What are we as an Archdiocese doing well?
• What are we as an Archdiocese doing not so well?
• What are we as an Archdiocese not doing that we should be?
If you would like to attend this listening session please come to the parish hall on the above date and time.
