The Food Drive Committee is part of the Beacon on the Hill and Social Ministry Committee. Their purpose and goal is to collect and distribute food and other necessities to approved agencies who will distribute these items to the less fortunate. The Food Drive Committee needs members who are able and willing to staple food lists to bags, sort and carry filled bags, and/or transport bags from the Church. The Food Drive Committee has the desire to help the less fortunate. It is rewarding to see the results of this work, with the church hall filled with bags of donated food and staples, and to receive feedback and appreciation from the agencies on behalf of those who have been helped.
Time Commitment: The group holds two stapling meetings of about one hour's length per year. There are two food drives which require about an hour or two each per year.
