This ministry provides regular companionship and stimulation, as well as spiritual support to shut-in parishioners. This service helps the homebound to maintain their parish connection. Reaching out to the homebound brings joy and inspiration to the visitor as well. Many shut-ins exhibit gratitude for the visit. This is a great opportunity to practice the works of mercy. Members should have the ability to listen, be compassionate and cheerful, and be aware of parish news in order to share it with the homebound person.
Time Commitment: Members of this Ministry attend two to three one hour meetings a year and if assigned to a homebound spend 1/2 hour twice a month visiting them.
